Skateboard for Jason? - My New Pro Longboard 11/13/2011
Since I don't have enough to do, my buddy Peter and I have set out to create our own skateboards. If you've read my blogs enough, you know I like to go all out when I make something from scratch. I may have some videos and pictures coming soon documenting the process. But until I have visual proof, enjoy the moch-up I made of my awesome twin tipped, robot-squid drop deck design. I really can't wait to finish this deck. I'm going to call upon my good buddies to help me out with the graphics. It will be the same awesome quality as the INSANE banner that was printed for my New York Comic Con appearance. Stay tuned. Add Comment KILL ALL MONSTERS 03/25/2011
Jason Copland and Michael May (no relation) have a great web comic called Kill All Monsters. It's updated weekly on Fridays. I always tune in and check out the new pages. I really enjoy the story. It's an action packed all out monster squishing spree drawn in a nice gritty loose style. I asked Jason Copland (the artist) to send some sample images of one of the robots so I could do a pinup. Here is what I came up with. Hope you enjoy. Be sure to go check out their comic! Jason Plays with EnviroBLOX 02/21/2011
I was very scepticalabout these "blocks." They are essentially biodegradable packing peanuts. I'm assuming you can use starch style peanuts in the same manner. You would just be limited by the colors packing stores offer. I sat down with the family and we laid out the blocks. Of course, I had to join in. After helping folks get the hang of attaching them, I started on my robotic masterpiece. I will also share a few creations from my six year old, four year old and two year old. Enjoy the show. Sketch to Final on New Tablet 05/10/2010
I've been working on a robot model for a friend of mine. I can now ink and color simultaneously with the new tablet PC I just purchased. It is a fun new technique that I've been look forward to trying for some time. This robot is now finished and passed along to the animator, but I thought this 'in-progress' image would be something for you fans to see. Robot Sketchcards 04/27/2010
The orders have begun and I'm ready to paint or draw you a robot. Of course, I will also sketch other characters of your choosing. Please contact me via the commissions page to request your card today. If you are not familiar with sketch cards I will take this time to explain. This is a hand painted card. Every card is different. None of these are prints, but individual pieces of artwork. Sketching with New Tablet 04/25/2010
Trying out the new tablet. I picked up a HP TM2 and have been satisfied with the purchase. Simple sketching is quick and easy and I look forward to quickly producing some comic artwork. I may use the tablet in this years 24 hour comic day. Bot Girl 04/06/2010
I figured it would be nice of me to sprinkle in some new art during my 'OLD ART' posting that will be continuing for the next few weeks. A friend of mine has been asking me for a while to paint this robot. So, that's what I did today. Robot Builder 03/10/2010
A while back I tweeted a question,"what should I draw on my new weekly blog." Curtis Lawson of Broken Soul Press asked that I draw a robot building a human. Last night, the mood struck me and here is what I came up with. Enjoy! NESPA Designs 02/02/2010
This week I'm working on some designs for the up and coming New England Small Press Assembly show (NESPA). I was asked to do some work on various items and one of them was to design a fun robot in a style that many of you have grown to associate with me. I'm very excited for the project and look forward to seeing the little guy plastered all over the NESPA forms and flyers. This Weeks Commission 11/04/2009
![]() Bacon is soooo good that robots love it. This week I happen to have a commission. I was asked to paint an image of a robot that I had previously sold to someone. It resides in their kitchen so I was asked to bump in a little bacon. As the piece progressed I had a little more fun incorporating egg as well as a pan dripping on to the floor. Why is he so sloppy you ask? I'm not sure, but I love the dripping pan. I hope you all enjoy. Please leave a comment if you'd like. | ART OF THE WEEK
