SOPA Strike - January 18th 2012 01/17/2012
I will be joining a large number of people in a protest against SOPA by blacking out www.jasonmay.com. To learn more about the SOPA Strike, visit http://www.sopastrike.com/ Add Comment Welcome 2012 - New Projects and Old 01/09/2012
Last year was a busy year. I took care of two of the three Swass Adventures books in terms of coloring, did various projects for friends, built a longboard skateboard, illustrated at least two stories in Shroud Magazine and was approached to sign at various events and requested to do a gallery show in 2012. I'm looking forward to this year. I originally planed starting work on my own properties after I finished coloring Swass Adventures, but if things go well, I'll have an announcement soon for a new gig. Stay tuned. If the project falls through you'll be seeing a lot more Jason May artwork com I've got a lot of deals brewing the world of robots. I may extend a lot of these deals through the holiday season. I highly recommend you support your local arts and any artists that you see online. These are all people working really hard to earn a living doing what they love to do. And the work is AMAZING. Why go to a big box or order the same old thing for a friend or family member when you could purchase something truly unique? And at a great price. Here's what I'm offering. Thank you for your support!
All this is just a click away!! Paypal accepted. I can also send you an invoice via Paypal that will allow you to use any credit card safely and securely. I would like to share a few reasons why I have been gone. The first big and awesome reason is that I've been working on my 2011 Robot Coloring Book. Many of you have already purchased it and I thank you. Please tell your friends. I am also working on Swass Adventures as their colorist for their three part mini series. Just this week I found out that they were able to get Chris Giarousso of Mini Marvels to do a pinup for the book. It came out awesome! Besides artwork and guitars, my interests also lye in cars. Recently I was given a 1981 Fiat Spider. Many of you know by reading my posts that I work with a lot of different materials, which makes working on the Fiat a lot of fun. You can learn more about my Fiat adventures by visiting my Fiat blog. Last but not least, I am a family man. Which means all of my spare time outside of building guitars, drawing robots, coloring comics and refurbishing old cars goes to my four kids, my wife and house. I recently have been battling our family car which was suffering from massive amounts of automotive ailments. Twenty-six hours and a can of Bondo-o later, the van seems to be okay. So, with any luck, I hope to be plastering this site with new work. Please, PLEASE stay tuned. After Hero Envy Swass Adventures is finished I plan on having some serious ME time in the world of art. Look for new personal projects coming up in 2012. What could it be? Comics? Kickstarter? Kids books? More coloring books? Come back and find out! I'd like to get my original art from my Robot Coloring Books into homes. There's no sense in letting it sit around my studio in a pile. I want it to be seen and I know you want to see it. For a limited time, I'm offering up all the original art from those books for ten dollars per illustration. If you want to buy two, three or more, let me know. I'm charging $5 for shipping. Combine that on as many pieces as you'd like. How can you beat $45 for four pieces of original inked art? Sent to your door! Head over to my facebook page now to check things out and shoot me an email if you want to stake a claim on a page. Thanks folks. I took a trip down to 7PLY skateshop in Westerly RI yesterday to investigate long boards. We've decided that we'd like to try and build out own boards out of baltic birch veneer and press them in one of our shops. Being a graphic artist, the first thing I started thinking about was the shape and graphic of the board I will be creating. While we're looking at longboards, I am looking into my skater past as some of the illustrations used on vintage boards. Here are a few pieces that I LOVED when I was a growing little grom. I haven't skated in years. Since I don't have any freestyle skills left it is my opinion that I need to become a cruiser. I do still surf and bodyboard quite a bit, so I'd like to work on my balance. A longboard is a great way to work on my balance. I will more than likely try and sell a few boards on this site in order to cover some of the set up costs. If you start seeing me post some awesome pics of boards and you decide you might want one, please inquire via the contact page. As you can guess, I'll probably have a robot theme on my first board. New York Comic Convention 10/20/2011
I had an amazing time at New York Comic Con. I will fill in more info here later today. I just wanted to get my photos uploaded. Jason May - Surprise Guest On Radio Show 10/20/2011
Yesterday I got an email from my chum, Ryan Howard, over at Where Monsters Dwell ( a radio show in Canada ). I had been giving the other two hosts, Remy and Mike, a hard time about New York Comic Con so Ryan thought it would be fun to surprise them with a quick call. Check out the October 19th MP3 download as soon as it is available. Their show is always fantastic and I was pretty happy to hear from Ryan. I love talking to those guys. To get the latest greatest news about Where Monsters Dwell, visit their website Available today!!! I'm offering up a rare chance for my fans. You can purchase a download of Robot Coloring Fun Time and print it at home! What!? Am I crazy? Yes I am. You deserve it. Enjoy it. Color it to your hearts content. Please share the link with friends and encourage them to purchase. This is a bold move on my part and I hope it works out! There is a five page preview for folks who haven't seen the book. Those of you who have purchased a hard copy and seen how excited kids get looking at my robots will probably want to purchase this again. Most parents know that $5 for a coloring book is a good deal. But being able to print it out again for you child is priceless. Grab it today, while it lasts. I can't promise I'll offer the print option forever. Download it today! Stay tuned. Next week at New York Comic I will be offering the new 2011 coloring book! I'm working all through the night making sure the product is ready! There have been numerous obstacles standing between me and my artwork this past year. I've been working on guitars, other art projects for other people, family, friends and most recently a Fiat I acquired from a relative. The Fiat is exciting because for some reason it looks just like one of my robots. I find inspiration for my robots everywhere. From car parts, car design to hand dryers in men's rooms. My goal in the next few days is to clean up my studio, take a short break from restoring my car and work on coloring Hero Envy Swass Adventures and get cracking on a robot coloring book that I hope to launch digitally the weekend of New York Comic Con. The nice thing about a digital launch is that I can work on the up to the day before the convention. The book will be downloadable and printable. This will be the first book I release that I allow printing. What good is a coloring book if you can't color it? | ArchivesJanuary 2012 What I Tweet
