Guitar FAQ
So you'd like a guitar but you have a few questions? I'll try my best to update this page frequently. If you have any questions that you would like to see answered on this page please contact me via the contact page.
Can I order a custom guitar from scratch?
The short answer is yes. Depending on the complexity of your request, price you would like to pay and other factors, I am definitely willing to start a build from the ground up. This type of custom build can become very costly very quickly and that should be considered prior to ordering. Please feel free to contact me with questions and specifications. I will do my best to work up a quote for you.
I have my own box. Can I send it to you and have you build me an instrument or amplifier?
Certainly. I can give you a quote on anything you have in mind. Keep in mind that supplying a box does not really reduce the cost of an instrument. Most boxes that are not in high demand are often found for free or cost a few dollars. What I like to deliver to the customer is craftsmanship and skills that they may not posses themselves.
Can you build me a guitar with a picture of my loved one, cat, dog, etc...?
I prefer not to do any instruments in the vein of "Things Remembered." However, if you want to do a piece that is inspired by a loved one, pet etc... we can talk about those options and if it is a possibility. A great example is a really fun piece that I'm working on right now that is inspired (somewhat) by Abe LIncoln.
How long will my order take to build?
Normally, four for six weeks for my standard designs. While each one is custom, I do have templates and measurments to follow for these builds. However, if you are requesting a special custom build it can take four to six weeks just to plan out the instrument with you.
My nail, bolt, bridge fell off and I don't know where it goes!
The simple answer is to measure from the nut (where the string touches at the top of the neck) down to the twelfth fret. It usually is about twelve inches. The bridge should be the same distance from the twelfth fret as the nut. So measure that distance down to the bottom and replace you bridge. If you still have problems you can email me.
How do I tune this thing?
Any way you want. But you can visit the guitar owners page to get some idea.
