I was recently asked to paint a custom skate deck using Boardstix brand markers. This was a Christmas gift for a local Rhode Islander's son. It was a fun, exciting and simple process. My customer had some ideas and was looking for a composition created with my very own art style. I really enjoy when people appreciate my artwork enough to give me a loose idea to create a composition. Not only does this simplify the process, but it allows me considerable creative freedom resulting in a more powerful product. You can view a video of me finishing off the deck. Unfortunately my GoPro had some issues during the first part of my painting. Click here to see video.

![]() As I was furiously working on my Movember campaign, drawing freelance for LEGO Club and doing a few commissions, I was hired to build a cigar box uke for friend and steampunk artist, Michael Salerno. It was a gift for his son and I'm told he loved it. In fact, I loved it and would like one of my own some day. But I don't have time to build for myself, so others must experience the joy of my art and instruments. Here's a slide show for everyone to check out. I'm putting the finish on the Licoln Bass Guitar I've been working on for quite some time. I'm hoping that this will be a piece that people can't stop talking about online and hopefully generates a significant amount of traffic as well as commissions. This is a really fun piece to work on. I have another commission I will be starting as soon as I am finished with the bass. Hopefully within the next week or so I will have pictures of the final instrument as well as some video on youtube. Here's a few more picts. Now go tell the world!
I've had a lot of people asking me about builds for Christmas. I'm happy to say that a few have actually ordered and I'm very excited about taking on the projects. There is nothing more amazing than getting a gift that some one had made for you. Not that someone made it for you, but that was custom ordered and built by a craftsman just for you. I will be happy to share some photos and stories after the Holidays regarding 2009 Holiday guitars. I don't want to spoil any surprises.
If you would like to order a completely customized guitar as a Holiday gift, please do so by the end of November. If you want a complex build, please try and do it sooner. I will do my best to fill the orders, but building instruments one by one is very time consuming a labor intensive. And I love it! Please visit my guitars home page and contact me regarding custom instruments. Stick-in-a-box guitars are quick, but please leave four weeks just to be safe. Anything more elaborate than that needs to be ordered soon. I'll be starting a batch of guitars this week. Don't delay and get into my queue for the last of 2009 guitar builds. |
