Free Robot Give Away Last Week 01/09/2012
If you're one of the people on Facebook that "like" my artist page, then you know I posted up a free inked robot drawing last week for the first fan to email me their address. I plan on doing this more through out the year, so head over to my Facebook art page and click "like." The only qualification other than being the first person to email me is that you are a fan of the page. Here's the link. And here is the piece that was given away last week. It's heading out to Boston in a day or two. Add Comment Another attempt at building a Christmas gift. I created two bird houses from scrap reclaimed lumber. One for my father and one for my father in law. I figured building an interesting looking birdhouse would be easy. Turns out it was more difficult than I thought. Mainly due to the high peaked angles I chose. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of the final houses, which sported a nice slat shingled roof and a copper peak, topped off with a coat of Thompson's Water Seal that I had laying around. They both seemed to enjoy them very much. They are both bird men and enjoy watching the little critters flit about their houses. Enjoy the slide show. Robot Santa Gives a Gift 12/28/2011
Last week, one of my favorite couples got stuck with a piece of robot art specifically crafted for them. I hope they enjoyed it. Now you can enjoy some quick snapshots I took of it. Please feel free to comment. Tis The Season To Bust Out The Crafts 11/27/2011
It's always fun to mess around with my wife's craft stuff when she pulls it all out. I had a lot of corks that I've been collecting for quite some time. I've always planned on making an interesting cork board for my office. This season, my wife decided, since I was dragging my feet, that she would take it upon herself to make something out of them. I decided to join in the fun and create this unique little ornaments. I'll probably make a few more before the month is through and hand some out at Christmas. Or maybe throw them in with some artwork as a nice little surprise for patrons of the bots! Skateboard for Jason? - My New Pro Longboard 11/13/2011
Since I don't have enough to do, my buddy Peter and I have set out to create our own skateboards. If you've read my blogs enough, you know I like to go all out when I make something from scratch. I may have some videos and pictures coming soon documenting the process. But until I have visual proof, enjoy the moch-up I made of my awesome twin tipped, robot-squid drop deck design. I really can't wait to finish this deck. I'm going to call upon my good buddies to help me out with the graphics. It will be the same awesome quality as the INSANE banner that was printed for my New York Comic Con appearance. Stay tuned. Working On NYCC Business Cards 09/20/2011
The time has finally come for me to create new business cards. I'm all out. Hopefully I can get them printed by New York on October 14th. Here's a sneak peak of testing QR code. I'm still working things out. I'm pretty excited about the new monitor coming to my studio. I've had these CRTs for about ten years now. They are hard to calibrate, eat up my energy and take up a lot of valuable space in my tiny studio. Enjoy this comic! I'm trying to break new ground with my art this year. Still keeping the robots in the mix, but I want to integrate more people, scenery and other objects into my work. Maybe I'll even have something to say with my robots. You can always check out my comic work for full stories. I've been on a roll with some of my sketch pages this week and I hope the creative juice keeps on flowing. If it does I will have a lot more work to use for my sketchbook. Hopefully it will also translate into more finished pieces of artwork that you folks will want to hang on your walls. Stay tuned while the art developes! Mostache Pinup 04/01/2011
I'm sure that any of my fans already know that my good chum, Brian LeTendre of Secret Identity Podcast, now has his own web comic. It's called Mostache. It's updated every Wednesday. They've been doing a good job of keeping up with deadlines and also recently reskinned the comic with a nice wordpress theme. I'm looking forward to see where this bizarre tale of an alien mustache leads. Go check it out now at www.mostachecomic.com In the meantime, check out the pinup I did of one of the mechanical bodies that the Mystaxians use as transportation. Pretty spiffy take on it. Am I right? KILL ALL MONSTERS 03/25/2011
Jason Copland and Michael May (no relation) have a great web comic called Kill All Monsters. It's updated weekly on Fridays. I always tune in and check out the new pages. I really enjoy the story. It's an action packed all out monster squishing spree drawn in a nice gritty loose style. I asked Jason Copland (the artist) to send some sample images of one of the robots so I could do a pinup. Here is what I came up with. Hope you enjoy. Be sure to go check out their comic! | ART OF THE WEEK
