This week I am sharing an image that I created to promote a band event. I created the image from a description given to me by a band member of the F-bombs. It is for their upcoming show on April 9th 2010. It will be in Groton CT at Christopher's Cafe.

NESPA Designs 02/02/2010

This week I'm working on some designs for the up and coming New England Small Press Assembly show (NESPA). I was asked to do some work on various items and one of them was to design a fun robot in a style that many of you have grown to associate with me. I'm very excited for the project and look forward to seeing the little guy plastered all over the NESPA forms and flyers.

Amplifier in steampunk stlye. In-progress
This small practice amp is crafted from a cigar box as well as additional pieces of machined wood. This is an early stage off assembly. When the amp is finished it will have a volume and gain control. As well as a power switch and an ultra bright LED installed in the headlamp. Other embellishments such as a name plate will also be added.

I've been having more fun with patterns this week as I begin preparing for the Steampunk Bizarre, coming up July 10th at the Hartford Art Space.

While researching filigree today, I decided it would be fun to start playing around with unusual and subtle filigree patterns. I have some future plans to work with functional art incorporating classic-seeming patterns. Closer inspection will reveal otherwise. Here is a test. Since it is a close stark look, you can see that it is simply a fish skeleton. Enjoy

My scanner is still down, but this should give you a general idea of how they look painted. When they are done, I will try and get a decent scan of one and post it. Hope you enjoy!

I did this quick, color pencil, sketch the other day. My computer has been down so I do not have access to a scanner, so I had to snap this quick pict with my cell phone. Hopefully I'll have the computer up and running soon so I can get some more work up here and do it more often.

Pink exposed brain robot girl.
Often crayons are over looked as an art form, however they invoke the memories of childhood as well as a deep....

Who the heck am I kidding!? Crayons are fun to draw with and come in a variety of color. Not to mention they are cheap cheap cheap.

Since I had a pile of crayons in front of me and this Hello Kitty paper, it was much too tempting not to bust out a few robots. Here's something you don't see too often. A Barbie color pallet robot with a lovely exposed brain. Enjoy this weeks art!
