![]() I haven't really been keeping up with my weekly art blog, but I have been uploading a weekly web comic for quite some time. I'm hoping to start posting art there each week on a Wednesday or a Friday. Hopefully I can start fitting that into my schedule along with freelance and family life.

Today I sat down and worked out a design I'd been planning for a while. I wanted to design a mermaid holding a cheese burger. I do a lot of surfing and my surf buddy and I had come up with a legend of the mermaid burger. Essentially, the burger mermaid preys upon hungry surfers when they are finished with their sessions. I also want to use this graphic on the new wood handplanes I've been shaping. Folks use them to body surf with. It gives you extra lift while your flying down the face of the wave. Here's a sample pic of the graphic as well as a guy handplaning. Pretty cool, right? I've been doing a lot of freelance work which is cutting into my personal sketch and art time. I hope to have some more art for you soon, but paying the bills is certainly a huge perk at the moment! Hey folks. Chris Gugliotti of Playing Dead and I created an image to start using for promotional purposes. We are letting the world know that we will be doing many comic conventions together. We want to invite you to come visit us, talk with us, maybe commission a sketch., If you're eager and don't want to wait for a convention, please visit my commission page and send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you. Until then, enjoy this really fun image!!
![]() I've been asking fans for ideas through my facebook and twitter pages. Since I've had a lot of time to draw what I want lately, I thought it would be a fun exercise to use ideas from various people and create an illustration. One of my friends suggested a "Cthulhu Robot." This is what I came up with. Not really at all what he asked for, but it was sure fun drawing it. I know. You're asking where the gnome came from? I was trying to think of something very different from the main character. I had known that I wanted something flowing by. My original concept was an image that popped into my head when I read the words from the email. I envisioned a man in a suit with a Cthulhu head in a room filling with liquid. That's it. Why? I'm not sure. Some sort of subconscious impending doom? Probably. Either way, I think this is a fun piece to add to my 2011 art book. What do you think? A while back I tweeted a question,"what should I draw on my new weekly blog." Curtis Lawson of Broken Soul Press asked that I draw a robot building a human. Last night, the mood struck me and here is what I came up with. Enjoy!
This week I'm working on some designs for the up and coming New England Small Press Assembly show (NESPA). I was asked to do some work on various items and one of them was to design a fun robot in a style that many of you have grown to associate with me. I'm very excited for the project and look forward to seeing the little guy plastered all over the NESPA forms and flyers.
